Our Very Own Swimming Pool

The girls have been jealous of Jack and Caroline's pool all summer and have been asking for one of their own. Now we have one! We have water days every Wednesday here during the summer where they bring out a bunch of kiddy pools for the kids to play in. This Wednesday was the last one and the Resident Managers were throwing out the pools afterwards because they were getting pretty beat up. So we brought one home!
Anna wanted you to see her jumping skills and Josie wanted you to see how she lies down in the water:Ruthie had a ball:
Josie's my one girl that actually gets cold sometimes and will be done swimming before the other two:

The girls are hoping for lots more warm days this summer now! Well, I should rephrase that. They don't care if its a warm day or not. I'm hoping that all the many days they'll be asking to get out the pool will be warm for a while now until the newness of the pool wears off. So far it's been on the chilly side and slightly rainy here. They don't care, since I've just been filling it with warmer water.

Oh my goodness, that looks like so much fun! And Jack says: that is exactly our pool mom! I have two questions for Katie: how did you put warmer water in it? And how do you dump it out when they're done? I can never empty ours when they've filled it that full, and then Trace informed me that it probably weighs 800 lbs full! Do you bail it out?
I'm glad the girls got their own pool. Isn't water play fun? I can't believe that Ruthie has so much fun too--she's not bothered by the splashing at all. And good flips Anna and Josie! I have no doubt we'll be practicing those soon. Today we spent the morning at the fair, and Caroline's still recovering, aka napping!

What a fun summertime you are having. Josie looks like she is at the beach, all bundled up like that. In fact she looks just like her mother all bundled up in a towel. Lovely picture of the two of you. I also can't believe that Miss Ruthie is not bothered by being splashed or anything her sisters do. What a happy little girl. Good trick with the flips out of the pool. Pretty smart to wait until now to get a pool. Ruthie is bigger and lots more able to enjoy it than she was 2 months ago. Tell the girls that Grandma Jo loved the video of them playing.
Hugs,
Grandma Jo
