We have another one year old in the house! Today was Jenna's birthday. (And I think tomorrow will be Charlotte's birthday- making a grand total of three one year olds in our house).
We had a blast making this cake, although since Mitch had the camera at work you don't get to see any pictures of the process. I wish you could have seen how covered Ruthie's face was with chocolate frosting when I gave her the spatula to lick off, or how meticulously the girls worked at putting the sprinkles on in just the right way.

Did you see the card that Anna made for Jenna on the table there? And notice how fancy the table is set, complete with a fancy tablecloth, fancy dishes from their tea set, and fancy forks they found in the drawer. We were all dressed up fancy as well (except Ruthie). Quite a fancy birthday party you had, little miss Jenna!

Blowing out the candle was definitely Ruthie's favorite part. I think she had Mitch relight it about 10 times so it could be blown out again and again and she could cheer.

Josie and Anna even washed all the dishes up afterwards. Quite impressive, really.

Oh my gosh, that is so funny. What a great Mom you are! A cake and all the accompaniments for Jenna! I love how fancy all the girls are and how serious it is. Lots of fun!
the true mom follows the interests of her kids and you followed it all the way. What a fancy party! I will have to come for my birthday someday. Good job girls on cleaning up after your party. Missing you all. Is it time to Skype yet?

Gosh, you are making me want some girls in my house! Can you all come here and show my boys how to host such a wonderful party? Reminds me so much of how my sister and I played.
Actually, we do have birthday parties, but they are usually from cakes we built out of blocks, and the recipients of such parties are often train engines or dragons--which you might imagine makes for a loud and destructive party. Oh, and table clothes and place settings? What are those?! LOL
